“Les résultats sont des objets impressionnants, des lumières et des urnes.”
Christian Masche
Christian Masche was born and raised in Berlin. After completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter in Berlin, he worked as a restorer of wooden objects at the Stiftung Preußische Schlösser und Gärten in Potsdam. Since 2000, he has been working as an independent designer.
Masche's studio is located in a small area called Oderbruch, just east of Berlin. Over time, the region has grown to become a popular home and workplace for many artists. For himself and many of his colleagues, the rugged landscape not only provides the raw material for their work, but also inspires his impressive wooden sculpture. For years, he has experimented with wood and metal as base materials, constantly expanding and testing the parameters of his language. His objects are a perfect synthesis of a distinct function and natural structure: warm natural tones of different woods contrasting with metal, ceramic, porcelain and concrete. The results are impressive objects, lights and urns.
