Lidia Markiewicz

 Lidia Markiewicz was born in Poland and has lived and worked in Luxembourg since 1975. She comes from a family of jewellers. She graduated in 1972 from the Higher School of Pedagogy in Legnica and Wrocław under Professor Bronisław Chyła. Her chosen speciality is plastic arts and pedagogy. At the same time, Lidia worked for the theatre and created painted posters, then she painted her own designs and created her first jewellery. Between 1986 and 1988 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trier. Since 1975 she has had numerous individual and group exhibitions in Europe and Australia. She teaches visual arts and art pedagogy in different schools and educational structures in Luxembourg. In addition, she runs her own studio - the Kanner Konscht Atelier. She has received several awards, including the Sacred Art Award in 2000, the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 2008 and the Award of the City of Legnica in Poland in 2015. She is a member of CAL and Grupa X in Poland.
