Questioning "The Gesture and the Territory" is the ambition of this fourth edition, which will be held from 23 to 26 November 2023, welcoming as usual to 19 Liberté more than sixty Luxembourg craftsmen selected after a call for submissions, and with for the first time a single country present and invited to take pride of place, Portugal.
Jean-Marc Dimanche, general curator of the exhibition, chose this theme not only to celebrate the gesture and the spirit, but also and above all to question the creators on the notion of artistic identity and cultural heritage linked to the history of each country. How is know-how passed on? How is it enriched by the arrival and contribution of craftspeople from elsewhere? What level of porosity can, over time, affect and influence the very style of a local craft?
Suite au succès de la grande exposition qui s’est tenue au 19 Liberté en décembre 2016, et dans l'optique de pérenniser l'engagement en faveur des créateurs et artisans d'art, Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Stéphanie de Luxembourg, la Chambre des Métiers du Luxembourg, Spuerkeess et M. Roland Kuhn ont créé en mai 2017 l'association De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg.
