Oxana Kuksa

Born in Russia in 1972, Oxana moved to Luxembourg for love, where she has lived with her family since 2003. She now works in the fashion industry, a profession that allows her to travel all over Europe. In her spare time, she is a keen gardener and observer of nature. In 2016, she actively pursued the art of painting, and later broadened her horizons to take up ceramics.

She mainly creates vases and decorative pieces for interiors. Each piece is the result of work guided by patience and a sense of detail, felt in every flower, every petal and every little creature. The artist is influenced by the diversity of her travels, by nature and by flowers. Cultural diversity and nature are her main sources of inspiration, and this is reflected in her work.

The raw materials used are stoneware and porcelain. The sculpted or modelled pieces are according to artistic choice. Oxana represents the subject of the 2023 exhibition "Gesture and Territory" through her use of flowers, referring mainly to the rosebushes of Luxembourg. She enamels the pieces with a metallic colour in homage to the Luxembourg steel industry. As an artist, she experiments with materials and shapes, placing no limits on her imagination or practice.
