Pitt Brandenburger
Pitt Brandenburger was born in 1961 in Esch/Alzette. From an early age, he was fascinated by nature. This attraction was nurtured by long walks with his father, a gardener, who passed on his inexhaustible knowledge of plants and animals to his brother (now a horticulturist) and him. "When he talked about shrubs or trees, I was hang on his every word.” This enthusiasm never faded, quite the contrary. It is therefore not surprising that Pitt chose wood as the material for his artistic creations, partly marked by his four years of study in Plastic Arts and Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. This desire to create and to pass on his know-how accompanied him for thirty years as a teacher of art education at the Lycée des Arts et Métiers and the Lycée Aline Mayrisch. Today his retirement allows him to concentrate even more intensively on his works, often anthropomorphic tabernacles, full of ancient symbols and mysticism.
