“She transforms wool in combination with noble fabrics, such as silk and linen, to create unique pieces.”

Carine Mertes

Felt designer, Carine Mertes was born in Luxembourg, where she lives and works in her studio of Boudersberg in Dudelange. Her passion for textile work led her to the technique of felting wool. An intense training in Germany, a certificate of felted designer and meetings with internationally renowned craftsmen have expanded her know-how. Her regular collaborations with other craftspeople illustrate the richness and diversity of felt that challenges and convinces the general public day by day.

The wool allows Carine to create fashion accessories, decoration and works of art. With the help of water and soap, she creates unique pieces of fine wool that she combines with noble fabrics such as silk and linen. With non-carded raw wool from regional producers, she creates sculptures, vases and wall carpets. The additional challenge of working on her creations with vegetable dye, give birth to unique objects.
