Sébastien Carré

Sébastien Carré is a French contemporary jewellery artist who lives and works in Strasbourg. After obtaining his higher diploma in plastic arts at the HEAR (École supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg), he accumulated numerous awards and distinctions. In 2015, he was one of the winners of the Prix de la jeune création métiers d'art by Ateliers d'Art de France, the Gioielli in Fermento prize (Italian prize for contemporary jewellery) and a double prize at the Legacy Award organised by the Alliages gallery (Jury prize + public). In 2016, he was also awarded the Prize for the Arts of the Rhineland Academy and finished 2nd in the Enjoia't Prize (Prize for contemporary jewellery in Barcelona). Since graduating in 2014, Sébastien Carré has exhibited in more than 110 exhibitions, in museums, galleries, schools or associations; in Europe, the United States & Asia. Contemporary jewellery has become for the artist a means of expression but also of meditation on himself and his surroundings. Vegetal, animal and mineral are combined in these jewels with organic or landscape forms. Mixing these interactive materials allows him to awaken a body that tends to be more insensitive due to an overconnected society.
