Chantal Delporte

After studying Plastic Arts and various training courses enabling her to discover the many facets of glass work, Chantal Delporte set up her workshop in 2004. She experiment cold techniques as well as kilnfired glass. In 2005, she was invited to develop the glass workshop at the Braine l'Alleud Art School. She participates in various exhibitions in Belgium and abroad. (Collect - London, Strasbourg Glass Biennial, Cobourg Glass Prize). Her work is based on the relationship between nature, human and the environment. Like a sculptor working with various materials, she multiplies techniques, juggling with the countless aspects of glass to better reveal it and to express herself. Sometimes she makes imprints of materials or she plays at weaving links, creating interconnected channels, similar to blood vessels. Light and colour help her to represent the passage of time, renewal and life.
