Serge Ecker et Misch Feinen

After studying fine arts in Strasbourg, Misch Feinen first worked as a graphic designer, before concentrating on his own creations as a freelance artist. His work is focused on industrial history, landscapes and architecture. He uses metal objects, photography, video and drawing to create multi-disciplinary installations involving sound and mechanics. He is an active member of the collectives DKollektiv and FerroForum and a wellknown percussionist for various musical projects, such as Total Trio or Open Screen's Kappkino. “ Serge Ecker was born in Esch-sur-Alzette in 1982. He lives and works in Luxembourg and Berlin. Trained in digital imaging and special effects, Serge Ecker is interested in the representation of reality through the prism of new technologies. His attention is focused on urban spaces, whether as a whole that he recomposes (Visit Luxembourg! LUX-PVG, Vis à vis, Welcome to Schengen) or as architectural details, threatened by destruction, oblivion or non-attention (re-space/re-visit series, Shades). He takes the same approach when he produces the sculpture of Melusina and deconstructs the myth of the legendary and mysterious figure. Deconstruction, reconstruction of a myth shaped and become its own synthesis. Serge Ecker reappropriates and synthesizes the Real, questions authenticity, sometimes in a cynical tone. What remains of the captured object after the multimedia transfer RealVirtual-Real? ”– Didier Damiani, critique et historien de l’art.
