Alex Muller born in 1953 in Luxembourg, is from a family of craftsmen and has been interested since his childhood in art and craftsmanship. From 1974 until his retirement he worked at the Luxembourg Railways. He devoted much of his free time to craft and creative training. In 1975, thanks to Georges Fautsch, his teacher at the Lycée classique de Diekirch, he discovered clay, a material for which his passion and fascination never left him. Working the clay to the limits of the material has become his challenge. In his recent sculptures we can perceive the inspiration of his father who was a blacksmith- locksmith. And “Mr. Hublot” has undoubtedly contributed to a certain extent. For his sculptures he applied the same techniques as a locksmith, he also worked with casts so that his sculptures correspond precisely to his vision.
