Nature vs. Counter-Nature

Beyond the age-old debate between tradition and progress, it is clear that today’s artists and craftspeople are exploring new digital techniques and, with them, contemporary materials. Although sometimes considered less noble than those traditionally used in the decorative arts, these materials offer equally fascinating possibilities in terms of transformation and aesthetics.

Nature vs. Counter-Nature creates a dialogue between ancestral techniques carefully passed down through generations — ceramics, stone carving, woodworking and more — presented at Le Banquet Luxembourg, and contemporary experimentation — 3D sculpture, transformed plastics and other innovative approaches — showcased on the adjoining stand, conceived as a true cabinet of curiosities.

And who knows? Along the way, techniques and materials may intertwine and overlap, giving rise to unexpected combinations and delightful creative encounters!

Révélations

Held every two years, Révélations is an unmissable event celebrating French and international creativity. Conceived and created by Ateliers d’Art de France, the professional organisation representing France’s 281 artistic crafts, the biennial is a major economic event for the sector.
