Promoting the Arts and Crafts of the Grand Duchy

The De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg association aims to pursue and expand the initiative launched in 2016 by H.R.H. the Hereditary Grand Duchess: to organise a major exhibition in the heart of Luxembourg, cataloguing and bringing together creators and art craftsmen practising in the Grand Duchy and its Greater Region.

Among the association’s missions, the first is to perpetuate the “De Mains De Maîtres” exhibition, whose fame extends beyond borders, becoming a true Biennial of Arts and Crafts and building essential bridges between key players in various European countries.

The association’s purpose also includes exporting Luxembourg’s arts and crafts and artisanal know-how. Complementing and strengthening this biennial event at the heart of the Grand Duchy, the association develops a programme of exhibitions abroad, aiming to showcase each year a selection of Luxembourgish art craftsmen in various European capitals, according to each country’s major events, or within embassies and other prestigious venues.

Also prioritising the essential transmission for the preservation of trades and skills, the association has created excellence scholarships which enable future craftsmen or those already established to further their expertise abroad. These scholarships, awarded at regular intervals, are partly financed by proceeds from the exhibitions, during which all the works presented may be acquired.

Thus, the De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg association aims to be a true driving force for the preservation and development of the arts and crafts of Luxembourg, both at the heart of the Grand Duchy, beyond its borders throughout Europe, and tomorrow on the international stage.
