Sandra Resende, originally from Mozambique and now based in Luxembourg, is a textile artist whose work explores themes of memory and be-longing, and whose practice forges a connection between material, gesture, and narrative. With a degree in philosophy and training in theatre, she explores the immense narrative potential of thread through techniques such as tapestry weaving, knotting, crochet, and embroidery. For Nature singulière, she presents works made from recycled natural fibres, incorporating discarded fabrics, found objects, and plant elements. Each piece questions our relationship with living beings—their life cycles and their resilience. In RE-naissance, a wall tapestry made from textile scraps, forgotten threads—knotted and woven together—find a new voice. In Kokemusu, an old circular wooden sieve becomes the base for an embroidered moss landscape—a metaphor for slowness and adaptation. Other works in progress continue this reflection on material and time. Sandra Resende composes textile narratives in which each fragment carries a story, each gesture a memory. A hymn to the beauty of what persists, transforms, and is reborn.
