Claude Schmitz, a Luxembourg-based jewellery designer born in 1971, has been developing a distinctive body of work for over twenty years, blending traditional goldsmithing with contemporary experimentation and a touch of irony. Trained in Antwerp and at the Royal College of Art in London, he designs jewellery as wearable sculpture, with each piece becoming a language in its own right. For Nature singulière, he presents a new series of creations which, while continuing his established approach, explore organic forms and textures inspired by the natural world. Without ever succumbing to imitation or arbitrariness, he captures the essence of the material—metal, stone, wood—to reveal its expressive power. His jewellery, both timeless and daring, plays with surface contrasts, unexpected combinations, and the versatility of forms. Some pieces can be worn as rings, pendants, or earrings—extending the reflection on function and metamorphosis.
