On foot or by tram,
an off-site route through Luxembourg City
Since its second edition in 2018, the De Mains De Maîtres Biennale has also ventured beyond the walls of 19Liberté, taking over various museums, art centres and other unusual venues across the city. This year, offering a snapshot of contemporary creation and craftsmanship in Luxembourg and Europe, more than a dozen venues are showcasing fine craftsmanship along a route that follows, more or less closely, the city’s new tram line.
Each venue explores its own theme… Casino Luxembourg focuses on design, while Villa Vauban presents a ceramics trail. At the MNHA, a selection of precious objects enters into dialogue with the decorative arts collections, while at the City Museum, glass takes centre stage. The Natural History Museum reveals a somewhat enigmatic stone, and Mudam presents a previously unseen piece at the heart of one of its exhibitions.
Not to mention Cercle Cité, which hosts an exceptional collection of artists’ jewellery, and the fortress museum, where a few surprises await… as well as the exhibition at the Portuguese Cultural Centre and the unusual artwork growing in the gardens of the Graace Hotel!
