At the end of 2020, on the dates when the 3rd edition of the Biennale was originally due to take place, De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg organised a special event entitled “Covid & Création”. Held under the patronage of the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple and with the support of the Chambre des Métiers and the Banque et Caisse d’Épargne de l’État, the exhibition presented around 150 works by some forty fine craft practitioners from the Grand Duchy, most of them created during this particularly unusual period.
Located in the heart of the city, this event, in a format adapted to the health situation at the time, did not replace the Biennale, which was postponed to 2021, but was designed as a genuine pop-up running until just before Christmas. It offered for sale a selection of exceptional pieces — ceramics, glass and textile works, sculptures, jewellery and more — so that the festive season could also become an opportunity to celebrate and support Luxembourg’s fine craft practitioners.
