Anne Bauler and Denise Schumann, master seamstresses from Luxembourg, whose vision is to create elegant, comfortable, and eco-friendly clothing. Anne Bauler, born in 1983, studied chemistry and law before turning to sewing. Denise Schumann, born in 1971, ob- tained her master’s degree in sewing in 1994 before moving into the theatre world. The two combine their expertise at the crossroads of textile art and sustainable fashion under the brand name Dressed in Leaves. This is the name given to the garment proposed for the 2025 Biennale De Mains De Maîtres. This textile piece, made using plant printing on natural fabrics (silk, linen, wool, cotton), celebrates the uniqueness of living things through the imprints of local leaves and flowers. Each pattern, steam-impregnated after mordanting, reveals a random organic composition, where nature becomes both creator and designer. Designed to follow the movement of the body, the garment is assembled by hand using sewing techniques that respect the prints. It thus becomes the medium for a constantly changing plant memory, a tribute to the slowness, imperfection, and ephemeral beauty of Nature singulière.
