Nancy Fis, a Luxembourg-based jeweller and goldsmith born in 1990, creates unique, entirely handmade pieces with infinite attention to detail. Committed to ethical jewellery, she works exclusively with recycled precious metals—particularly gold and silver—ensuring a responsible approach. Combining traditional techniques with contemporary design, she creates elegant, emotionally charged jewellery inspired by the forms and textures of nature. For Nature singulière, she presents a sculptural shoulder ornament composed of three copper magnolia flowers and recycled silver chains. The flowers—symbols of resilience—bloom on a branch delicately placed on the shoulder, while the chains drape across the bust like fabric. The piece questions our relationship with nature: are we its guardians, or its vandals? Each petal is cut, forged, painted and assembled with meticulous care in a sublime, poetic process. A form of embroidery for the body. The contrast between the softness of the flowers and the rigidity of the metal symbolises the tension between harmony and domination. Advocating sustainable craftsmanship, Nancy Fis invites us to reflect on our place in the ecosystem—and the necessity of our commitment to all living things.
