Roxanne is a designer creating furniture and home accessories. She thinks Design has to offer more than shaping functional objects. Besides the products’ function, they are supposed to tell their own story. They should speak a language which fascinates the user and triggers their emotions. This interaction of concept and design is reflected in the development of her work. During her education in Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands, her enthusiasm for design and craftsmanship developed. To complete her projects, she is working in-house or works with passionate craftsmen like woodturner Michael Nätscher. For him, woodturning is complex craftsmanship combined with creativity. Precision and sense of shape bring results that are aesthetically and practically achievable. On top of this, she is working with MK Porcelain which porcelain wares are inspired by a long and distinguished history of design and craftsmanship in Chinese porcelain. Through these collaborations of craftsmanship and design, the common fascination for precision, aesthetics, material and shapes bring out outstanding products.
