Léonie Fonck, a self-taught goldsmith born in Diekirch, lives and works in Bertrange. Since 2018, she has been crafting jewellery in her workshop in Kuelbecherhaff, where she combines silver, precious stones, wood, and fabric in delicate compositions. For De Mains De Maîtres she presents a unique interpretation of nature through a collection of rings, brooches, and earrings made from real acorns and beechnuts—ethically harvested and then silver-plated. Her challenge lies in respecting the specific characteristics of the material—particularly silver and knitted silver wire—and integrating them harmoniously into her creations. These are sometimes enhanced with freshwater or cultured pearls, and often adorned with precious stones. This balance is achieved through a specialised silvering process. In this way, wild fruits— ephemeral by nature—are transformed into unique and enduring pieces. Léonie Fonck thus gives a second life to these fragile treasures of the forest. Each piece tells a story: one of intimate connection between the living world and craftsmanship. Jewellery, too, possesses its own nature—one that cannot be measured solely by its value, but by the subtle emotion it evokes or conveys to its wearer.
