Danielle Grosbusch, born in 1956 in Ettelbrück, where she still lives and works, trained in fine arts in the 1970s. She specialised in engraving, textile screen printing and lithography at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy in Brussels. She exhibits both solo and in national as well as international group shows, and teaches etching at Atelier Empreinte. A ‘green thread’ runs through her work. For Nature singulière, she presents EpiGenesis, a series of five monotypes marking a turning point in her practice. Abandoning the chemical processes of etching, she explores the layering of oil-based inks on art paper to create translucent veils. Fascinated by plant fragments, mycorrhizae, fossils and runic-like symbols, she composes meditative works in which each trace seems to emerge like a memory embedded in matter. The long, intuitive process combines control and chance, mirroring organic growth. Each piece is unique—a dialogue between gesture, texture and light. Displayed under glass in a Petersburger hanging, the works invite us to witness the slow genesis of form.
