Kot-Bach Katarzyna

Born in Poland in 1978, Katarzyna Kot-Bach trained in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow where she obtained a master’s degree in 2003. At the same time, she studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux- Arts in Paris. With regard to her training in art pedagogy, she shares her passion within the Luxembourg Center for Art Promotion. Installed in the Grand Duchy since 2002, she is known for her monumental achievements in bronze. As a member of the Sixhtfloor collective in Koerich, Katarzyna has received several awards and regularly exhibits in Luxembourg and abroad. Her production is shrouded in a deep reflection on the nature of man and the vegetable nature, on beauty, and on the ephemeral. Demanding but infinitely respectful of the material, she recycles wood, initiates a dialogue with her essences, and transforms into works of art. The leaves and branches of bronze, cast from the natural foliage, join her organic sculptures. The union of wood and metal reads like a will to freeze the ephemeral and to familiarize the universe: the leaf, to be unique or member of a big whole, becomes an invitation to the introspection.
