Catherine Muller, born in Bukavu (Zaire) in 1958, is a Luxembourgish goldsmith trained in Liège and at the Goldschmiedeschule in Pforzheim, who opened a workshop in Florence in 1982 before eventually settling in Cologne. For over forty years, she has been creating artistic jewellery that unites technical mastery with formal poetry. For Nature singulière, she has created a 925/000 silver ring set with 191 mauve diamonds, inspired by a lavender field swaying in the Provençal breeze. This fleeting image, captured in a moment of grace, becomes a piece of jewellery—a fragment of nature trans- formed into a precious glimmer. The ring, initially modelled in wax and later cast in silver, evokes the fluid movement of flowers, accentuated by the subtle arrangement of stones of varying sizes. Each diamond, set by hand, catches the light like a drop of dew upon a petal. Through this creation, Catherine Muller exalts the ephemeral beauty of flora, transforming it into a lasting, intimate, and tactile work of art. Her goldsmithing becomes a tribute to nature—its delicacy and silent strength.
