Biography

Karolina Pernar, born in Croatia and based in Luxembourg since 2015, is a multidisciplinary artist trained at the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb and the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia. Her work, situated at the inter- section of sculpture, installation and in situ art, explores perception, memory, and the relationship between space and time. For Nature singulière, she presents an immersive sculptural piece that draws on the structures and forces inherent in nature. Designed to invite viewers to move around it, examine it from multiple angles—including from below—the sculpture plays with light, solidity and void, creating a dialogue between the visible and the invisible. Wood, the central material in her practice, is employed here for its flexibility and its capacity to evoke the living. The piece captures the rhythm and fleeting essence of nature, while simultaneously expressing its permanence. By integrating other media and responding to the architectural and landscape contexts, Karolina Pernar creates a sensory and contemplative experience. Her sculpture becomes a space of resonance, inviting viewers to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the subtle forces that surround us.
