Pascale Pleimling-Putz, a Luxembourg-based textile artist born in 1959, has long explored the expressive potential of flexible materials. Holding a degree in Embroidery and Design from the United King- dom, and as a member of the textile collectives Filum66 (LU) and Ten19 Fibre Artists (UK), she has developed a sculptural practice imbued with slowness, materiality, and the memory of gestures. For Nature singulière, she presents two sculptures created using the ancestral technique of coiling—traditionally used in basketry—a form of spiral weaving. Using linen cords of varying diameters, she weaves organic volumes, each patiently coiled by hand. These forms, neither entirely abstract nor fully figurative, evoke shells, seeds, or corals—and invite contemplation. Inspired by the rhythms of nature, Pascale creates solid forms from flexible materials—imaginary landscapes onto which viewers can project their own stories. The choice of linen—a natural and sustainable fibre—reinforces the connection to the living world. In a fast-paced society, her slow and meditative practice becomes an act of resistance—a return to the essential: to the earth, to the hand, to form.
