Malou Tibor, a self-taught ceramic artist born in Luxembourg in 1963, has been creating a poetic universe since 2015—where plants become sculptors and porcelain serves as a medium for expressing the elusive beauty of nature. Although she began her career creating functional pieces and tableware, flowers have now become the central element of her work. She makes her own porcelain, incorporating water, recycled printed paper, and wilted flowers picked from her garden or during walks. In Eclosion éternelle, a series proposed for the 2025 De Mains De Maîtres Biennale, her porcelain sculptures capture the fragile moment of flowering and transform it into a lasting trace. Each wilted flower is immersed in liquid porcelain, then incinerated during firing— leaving only its delicate imprint. The vase, handcrafted using the coil technique, becomes the backdrop for a profusion of flowers in relief—each petal intuitively finding its place. Following the principles of Kintsugi—a Japanese method of repair— Malou Tibor celebrates imperfection, enhanced by touches of gold and green. A meditative and experimental work that embodies the spirit of Nature singulière.
