With Dutch origins, Wouter van der Vlugt was born in 1970 in Luxembourg. Wood Sculptor since 10 years, he started his career of independent artist as a furniture designer. Founding member of the artists group Sixthfloor, Wouter creates in 1991 his own workshop of Neimillen, an old sawmill in Koerich. In the work of Wouter, architecture elements are opposed to organic forms. He seems to search to dig in the deepest of the materials to discover its true nature, where the emptiness and the volume join. Even if the wood stays his predilection material, he often works fibre glass, a material that allows the artist to express himself in a different language.
