Nadine Zangarini, a Luxembourgish sculptor trained in Strasbourg and Freiburg im Breisgau, creates interactions between light and shadow using various types of wood—or stone—allowing her to explore organic forms that evoke the fluidity and vitality of nature. In dialogue with the material, Nadine Zangarini sculpts by allowing knots, veins, and rough edges to guide the emerging form. Her sensitive and intuitive work reveals the hidden beauty of wood and the poet- ry of its nuances and imperfections. She has now set her sights on maple, a symbol of protection in Celtic tradition. The maple tree crafted for the 2025 De Mains De Maîtres Biennale comes from her mother’s garden. The piece, with its curves and interior space, captures the very essence of life: fragility, transformation and rebirth. The opening at the top—both delicate and solid— becomes a metaphor for a future balanced between memory and harmony. By incorporating arches and opening movements, she pursues an inner quest for light and connection with the living world. Her approach—a celebration of the gesture born from listening to the tree—is the embodiment of a Nature singulière.
