Metzler Michel

Michel Metzler was born in Luxembourg in 1992. After his schooling at the "Fräi ëffentlech Waldorfschoul Lëtzebuerg", where his creativity and fascination for creation and manual work were encouraged, he went on to the Ecole Supérieure d'Art in Marseille (FR) and Maastricht (NL), finally obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts, specialitý plastic arts, at the Alanus College in Bonn/Alfter (DE) in 2018.

Already during his studies, Michel Metzler preferred to work with steel and stone, and is now looking for different ways to combine them. Although the figurative motifs differ, what they have in common, alongside the choice of material, is the theme of decline and evanescence, reflected in the oxidised and damaged material that gives them an antique appearance. His works seek to enchant, to create a mysterious atmosphere, and invite the viewer to reflect on history, time and its transience. With his works, Michel Metzler wants to offer each viewer a moment of fascination and invite them to travel.
